I’m a huge fan of the movie “Mean Girls” and absolutely love the scene where they say “on Wednesday we wear pink.” and have always wanted to be able to say that. Ironically, even though I love pink nearly as much as Reese Witherspoon’s “Elle Woods” I’ve almost never managed to wear pink on Wednesdays. Or if I did, I forgot about the Mean Girls scene. So when I scored this absolutely beautiful pink lace DKNY blouse I just HAD to wear it. Even if it was the middle of November and cold out. The blouse was definitely more suited to warmer and more seasonal (ahem, spring or summer) weather I just could not resist.
So I threw it on under jacket and wore it to the office. Yes, I was cold. Yes, I looked less than seasonally appropriate. Did I care? Only marginally. I just had to show off this pretty pink piece. I also couldn’t help myself with staring that I only paid $6.75 for it at one of the local Goodwill stores. I plan to post about the blouse on Instagram and am interested to see what other people think with regards to pink in the fall and winter. Is it like white where it was kind of bad fashion to wear it after Labor Day? And even that colloquialism has kind of gone out the door. People wear white year round and suede or booties in the summer. So what about pink? Is it a spring and summer color only? What about shade? Are light pinks only ok for summer weddings or is a baby pink cashmere hoodie fair play in January?
If you’re like me and think that pink is a year round color then a) you’re awesome, congratulations (and if not, it’s ok, you’re just in a different kind of clique) and b) scroll on below to shop some curated pink pieces that would make Elle Woods proud.
I hope that you guys enjoyed this pink post! If there’s something specific you’d like me to discuss for next time, leave me a comment below or send me an email! ___________________________________________________________________________________________
