Ah Valentine’s Day. A holiday that you either love and get really into or you hate and roll your eyes at. I used to be the latter. Then came the pandemic. Over the course of the last year I’ve started to feel the impact of the virus on my personal and social life. I just feel kind of lonely- in a disconnected manner. I have plenty of strong relationships and people I connect with regularly. So honestly, my life is (respectively) golden. But I’m still feeling it. And while shopping and money don’t fix personal problems like feeling lonely, it sure feels nice to get spoiled! Yay, presents!
So yeah, this year I’m going to treat myself like the boyfriend I don’t have should do if he existed. [On a side note: I am not boyfriend-less because of the pandemic or whatever; rather, I’m a princess and picky AF. No worthy man has attempted to court me so I shall spoil myself]. So as I was saying, I am going to treat myself: flowers, maybe some Hu Kitchen chocolate (yum), and a trinket or two. And as a shopaholic and bargain hunter I’ve been scouring the internet for things that make my heart flutter. Enter these GORGEOUS red patent Chanel flats.

If you’re like my mother you might be asking “don’t you already have enough Chanel flats?”. And the answer to that is “there is no such thing as too many Chanel flats. Especially if they’re a good deal”. I own several other pairs but none are as stunningly gorgeous as this pair. They’d make me feel like a modern Dorothy- if only clicking my heels together would take me to a non-pandemic world where you go share close space with people and not die.
Alas, I don’t think these flats have magical properties but they are gorgeous. They are also in great condition and come with the box and both dust bags (sometimes hard to fin with pre-owned Chanel flats). As the box shows, they retailed for $750 (plus tax, because undoubtedly these weren’t purchased in Delaware or Pennsylvania) so while $499 sounds a little steep, it’s actually a pretty good deal. Plus negotiations are part of the fun of buying on sites like Mercari, eBay, and Poshmark.
So if you’re in love with these flats as much as I am you can shop them for your Valentine via Mercari here. And if you want ME to be your valentine you can purchase them and send them to me, because always nice to get treated by someone other than yourself (email me for my address, I’m ridiculously serious about this, lol). HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY AND HAPPY SHOPPING
