It might be October, but in some places it’s still really hot in the afternoons. Like here where I’m staying in CA for the next few months (it hit a high of 94 yesterday....). It’s something that I’m not used to but also something kind of cool: I get to adjust my style in ways that I haven’t had the chance to do before.
By the time October rolls around in Pennsylvania I’d only ever wear a camisole under sweater or a hoodie or wear a slip dress under, well, a dress. But when it’s 90 degrees out, well, I CAN wear a cute little cami. And there’s something kind of refreshing about it. Part sexy. Part chic. Comfy. Versatile. Why I don’t have more than two in my closet I’m not sure. I’m starting to feel like camisoles are some of the most versatile wardrobe staples next to the LBD and a pair of high waisted black Levi’s.

Not sweltering out where you are? You can still wear a cami. Style with a blazer or chic cardigan for a put together look for your zoom meetings. Going out for some socially distanced pub quiz after work? Wear a cami or slip dress under a leather Moto jacket for an edgy, cool-kid vibe. Going thrift shopping like me (where it’s not hot)? Throw on some black leggings and a zip up hoodie to elevate your shopping style to chic and comfy! Note: it’s actually really cool in the morning and evening here: I styled this cami with a soft zip up cashmere hoodie.
